For my final thesis project during my undergraduate studies, I wanted to tackle an idea that is close to my heart. For the first half of the year, I researched design activism – how it has been used in both historical and contemporary contexts, how it is an effective means of advocating for specific causes, and how different mediums can influence different target audiences.
For the second half of the year, I primarily researched sustainability and how businesses can cause a negative or positive impact on the environment. For my final project, I imagined a hypothetical consulting firm that guides businesses on their journey to sustainability.
Using research from both semesters, I designed the company's brand identity, a how-to guide booklet, and a website. These pieces intend to encourage businesses to implement sustainable practices into their business models, while also giving detailed means of doing so.
